This phase aims to transition from direct input subsidies to a direct credit system linked to structured market arrangements.
The goal of PFJ 2.0 is to improve food security, reduce poverty, and create employment opportunities.
Five key pillars were designed for policy action, provisioning of subsidized certified seeds (50%), subsidized fertilizer (50%), e-agriculture, market opportunities, and free extension services.
Integrity Commodities, in collaboration with the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, successfully launched PFJ 2.0 in Ejura, Ashanti Region.
As an aggregator between farmers and the government, Integrity Commodities will operate in three district offices: Ejura Sekyere Odumasi, Sekyere East, and Atebubu Amantin.
CEO Gideon Queye emphasized their commitment to helping farmers access their produce. He highlighted how Integrity Commodities bridges the gap between farmers and the PFJ program, making it simpler and easier for farmers to access farm inputs on time, ensuring food security and availability.
Over 10,000 farmers have benefited from the program, with over 60,000 acres of land registered.
With the introduction of e-agriculture, farmers can access all farm inputs using their Ghana card and a digital app system.
Integrity Commodities provides equipment services like tractors and other farm machines.
Farmers can pay for inputs after harvesting and sell their produce to the aggregator at a competitive price.
The Municipal Chief Executive of Ejura Sekyere Odumase, Hon. Dr. Kingsley Osei, commended the government and Ministry of Food and Agriculture for the innovative program.
