Diddy to Be Sentenced Today After Begging Judge for Mercy in a Last-Minute Letter Plea

Convicted rap mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has written a four-page letter to Judge Arun Subramanian, pleading for mercy ahead of his sentencing on Friday.

Combs, who faces up to 20 years in prison after being found guilty of two prostitution charges in July, apologised for his actions, blaming years of drug abuse and excess for his behaviour. He admitted to assaulting his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura and expressed remorse for his history of domestic violence, writing that he had been “humbled and broken to [his] core” during his 13 months in jail.

While prosecutors are seeking at least 11 years behind bars, his legal team is asking for his release later this month, citing his reformation, sobriety, and responsibility to his seven children and elderly mother.

Victims, however, have urged the court to impose a long sentence, warning that Combs remains dangerous and manipulative. Judge Subramanian will deliver the ruling after hearing statements from Combs, his lawyers, and prosecutors on Friday.
