Tottenham sack Thomas Frank after turbulent Eight-Month Spell

Tottenham Hotspur have relieved head coach Thomas Frank of his duties following a dismal run of results that has left the club perilously close to the Premier League relegation zone.

The decision was officially announced by the club on Wednesday, marking the end of Frank’s eight-month tenure at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Frank was appointed in June 2025, replacing Ange Postecoglou and signing a contract intended to run until 2028. He joined from Brentford, where he had spent seven years building the Bees into a stable Premier League side.

However, domestic form has deteriorated significantly in the 2025–26 season. Spurs have managed just two wins in their last 17 league games and endured an eight-game winless streak, culminating in a 2–1 home defeat by Newcastle United.

The club is currently 16th in the table, only five points clear of the relegation places when the board made its decision.

In a club statement, Tottenham thanked Frank for his commitment and contribution, noting the decision to part ways followed careful consideration of results and performances. The club said its governing board concluded a change was necessary at this point in the season.

“However, results and performances have led the Board to conclude that a change at this point in the season is necessary. Throughout his time at the Club, Thomas has conducted himself with unwavering commitment, giving everything in his efforts to move the Club forward. We would like to thank him for his contribution and wish him every success in the future.”

Spurs now begin the search for Frank’s successor as they aim to arrest the slide and secure Premier League survival with 13 games remaining.
