Court remands five suspects in Kade teacher assault case

The Kade Circuit Court, presided over by His Worship George Davis Ofori, has remanded five suspects arrested in connection with the alleged assault of Michael Quayson, a teacher at Kade Senior High Technical School, into custody.

All five suspects pleaded guilty to assaulting the teacher in open court and were remanded accordingly.

Three suspects above 18 years were remanded into prison custody, while the two below 18 years were remanded into police custody, with all set to reappear on January 20, 2026.

Awoonor Yevu Godwin, Eastern Regional Chairman of NAGRAT, stated that the organization is pleased with the court proceedings and is confident that justice will be served to serve as a deterrent to other students.

Awoonor Yevu Godwin also commended President John Dramani Mahama, Inspector General of Police Christian Tetteh Yohuno, and the Director General of the Ghana Education Service for their interest and swift response in the matter.
