Ashanti Region: Six dead in fatal accident on Offinso–Abofuor road
A fatal road accident occurred on the Offinso–Abofuor highway in the Ashanti Region, resulting in six fatalities.
The incident involved a collision between a trailer loaded with cement and a commercial passenger bus at approximately 4:00 am on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, between the Sompraso and Awisam stretches of the road.
The vehicles involved were a trailer with registration number GN 5326-22 and a commercial bus with registration number GT 5509-20.
Several passengers sustained critical injuries and were transported to St. Patrick’s Hospital at Offinso-Maase for treatment.
The bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the hospital’s morgue.
The police have launched investigations into the incident.
