Police apprehend 10 suspects over viral video of mistreatment of two women in Wassa Dawurampong
The Western Central Police Command has taken into custody ten suspects in connection with a viral video that showed the physical abuse and robbery of two young women in Wassa Dawurampong.
The victims were allegedly selling money to a gold buying shop when the incident occurred.
The arrests were carried out by the IGP’s Special Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team in collaboration with the Western Central Police Command.
Details of Arrests and Charges
Three of the suspects were among those seen in the video cutting the scalp of one of the victims, identified as Tawiah @ Awaga, with a sharp razor. The suspects detained for this specific act are:
- Eric Donkor (@ Killer Block), age 32 years
- Yaw Gyimah, age 29 years
- Edmond Nartey, age 24 years
The remaining seven suspects were arrested for allegedly playing various roles in aiding and abetting the commission of the offence. They include:
- Stephen Amu, age 24 years
- Farouk Balas, age 18 years
- Mensah Bernard, age 18 years
- Adu Baggeo, age 23 years
- Bismark Nyarko, age 30 years
- Akwesi Poku George, age 18 years
- Oteng Alfred, age 23 years
The police have confirmed that the suspects will be screened, and the main culprits will be arraigned before the court.
