Supreme Court admits Democracy Hub in Wesley Girls Religious Rights suit

The Supreme Court has granted Democracy Hub permission to intervene in the case against Wesley Girls’ Senior High School as amicus curiae, enabling the organization to contribute additional legal perspectives to the Court’s deliberations.
This ruling empowers Democracy Hub, represented by Oliver Barker-Vormawor, to provide expert analysis on allegations of systemic human rights abuses and religious discrimination at the school.
The substantive application, filed by Shafic Osman, alleges that Wesley Girls has violated the 1992 Constitution by restricting Muslim students’ freedom to practice their faith and forcing them to participate in Methodist religious activities.
The Court has ordered that Democracy Hub may only file its arguments after all parties have completed submitting their documents.
