Gender Minister pays visit to stampede victims and bereaved families

The Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, paid a visit to the 37 Military Hospital to offer solace to individuals injured during the stampede at the Ghana Armed Forces recruitment exercise at El-Wak Stadium.
Her visit aimed to engage with victims receiving medical care and assess their recovery progress. The Minister conveyed a message of support from the Government and people of Ghana to those affected.
Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey indicated that the President had directed her to check on the victims and assured them that the nation stands firmly behind them. She encouraged the injured to stay optimistic, expressing confidence that they would regain their strength and look forward to brighter days.
The Minister commended the medical professionals and hospital authorities for their commitment and rapid intervention in treating the victims.
After visiting the injured at the hospital, the Minister—accompanied by the Deputy Minister of Defence and officials from the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection (MoGCSP)—visited bereaved families in Adenta and Kpone Katamanso to extend condolences and share in their sorrow.
She expressed Government’s deepest sympathies and assured the families of continued support as they navigate this painful period.
She expressed the hope that God would bring profound comfort to the families in these trying times.
“The Ministry will provide support throughout your healing journey and, through social protection interventions, ensure that this tragedy does not define your future,” she said.
The Minister is expected to visit the remaining affected families in the coming days to offer condolences.
