WAFU B U20 Girls’ Cup: Black Princesses record second win with 2-0 triumph over Benin

The Ghana Black Princesses achieved their second win in the ongoing WAFU B U20 Girls’ Cup, defeating host nation Benin 2-0 on Monday, November 10.
This victory, played at the Stade de l’Amitié, marked Ghana’s second win over Benin in the competition, thus completing a double over the hosts.
Head coach Charles Sampson made a few lineup changes following a rest day on Sunday after consecutive matches against Benin and Nigeria.
Juliana Gyekewaa earned her first start of the tournament at right back, while goalkeeper Aishetu Awinimi also earned a starting position.
Ghana started strongly and scored in the 14th minute when striker Sarah Nyarko scored from close range—her third goal in three matches.
The Princesses led 1-0 at halftime.
Sampson’s team remained in control during the second half, fashioning several opportunities before Latifa Musah sealed the win in added time with a fine finish.
Musah, who was named Player of the Match in Ghana’s first encounter with Benin, once again impressed as the Black Princesses claimed a comfortable 2-0 victory.
Ghana will next face Nigeria on Tuesday in their final group game of the tournament.
