Reverend John Ntim Fordjour, a key proponent of the Human Sexual Rights and Family Values Bill, 2025, also known as the anti-gay bill, has urged Parliament to promptly reintroduce the legislation for consideration.

Initially, the bill was listed on the House’s agenda on Tuesday, October 21, but its absence from Wednesday’s Order Paper sparked concerns among Minority Caucus members. Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga subsequently attributed the listing to an administrative error.

On Wednesday, October 22, the Assin South MP stressed to journalists in Parliament that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government must facilitate the bill’s passage.

“We will not allow the NDC government to run away from the bill. It is a Bill that is important to all Ghanaians. We all know the propaganda they put out for this Bill. The lies they peddled, but we passed them when we were in government. Why are they running away from passing the Bill?

“We’re demanding that the Human Sexual Rights and Family Values Bill, 2025, be passed immediately and not deferred to another time. Where they took the Bill, they must bring it back and feature it on the order paper. Ghanaians are demanding that we pass the Bill now,” he asserted.
