2026 WCQ: Ghana’s Black Stars Coach Otto Addo Unveils Squad for Central African Republic and Comoros Matches

Ghana’s Black Stars coach, Otto Addo, has announced his squad for the final two 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against the Central African Republic and Comoros, featuring exciting inclusions such as Kojo Peprah Oppong, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, and Alidu Seidu.
The 21-year-old Kojo Peprah Oppong has earned his first senior national team call-up following impressive performances with OGC Nice in France’s Ligue 1, marking a significant rise from Ghana’s Division One club Attram De Visser to European football. His impressive performances have caught the attention of the national team selectors, marking a significant milestone in his career.
Following a strong season in the English Championship, Leicester City winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku returns to the squad after overcoming an anterior cruciate ligament injury sustained in November. Defender Alidu Seidu is also making a comeback after recovering from a knee injury that kept him sidelined for nearly a year.
Additionally, newcomer Prince Owusu, midfielder for Medeama SC, receives his first national team call following a promising start to the Ghana Premier League season, reflecting the coach’s commitment to integrating new talent.
Ghana will face the Central African Republic on Wednesday, October 8 in Meknes, Morocco, before hosting Comoros in Accra on Sunday, October 12.
The Black Stars currently lead Group I and need just four points from these last two games to secure their place in a fifth FIFA World Cup, set to be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico in 2026.
