Government increases cocoa producer price to GHS 3,625 per Bag
On Thursday, October 2, 2025, Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Baah Forson announced that Ghana’s government will increase the producer price of cocoa to GHS 3,625 per bag or GHS 58,000 per tonne, effective Friday, October 3, 2025.
The new price represents a GHS 400 per bag increase, equivalent to a 12.27 percent rise from the August price.
Dr. Forson stated that the margins, fees, and rates for all stakeholders, including COCOBOD, will remain unchanged.
COCOBOD will continue to provide support to farmers by offering free fertilizers, insecticides, spraying machines, fungicides, and flower inducers to boost production.
Additionally, Dr. Forson revealed that COCOBOD plans to launch a Tertiary Education Scholarship Scheme for children of cocoa farmers in the 2026/27 academic year.
