Ghana, Antigua and Barbuda sign visa-free travel agreement

Ghana has entered into a visa waiver agreement with Antigua and Barbuda on the margins of the 80th United Nations General Assembly in New York.
The agreement was signed by Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and H.E. E.P. Chet Greene, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Trade and Barbuda Affairs. This agreement enables citizens of both countries to travel without visa restrictions, thereby enhancing bilateral relations and fostering greater cooperation.
This marks the 10th visa waiver agreement secured for Ghanaians since Mr. Ablakwa assumed office as Foreign Minister.
According to Mr. Ablakwa, the Mahama Administration is dedicated to increasing the value of Ghanaian passports, enhancing travel experiences for citizens, and expanding trade and tourism opportunities.
He viewed the development as a significant step in reconnecting Ghanaians with their Caribbean brethren and promoting Ghana’s global presence.
