Sarkodie not allowed to host ‘Rapperholic’ on Baba Yara pitch – NSA

The Director General of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, has confirmed that the Baba Yara Sports Stadium’s pitch will be off-limits for this year’s Rapperholic concert.
The annual music festival, headlined by award-winning rapper Sarkodie, is set to take place at the stadium this weekend.
However, concerns were raised regarding the potential use of the main playing surface for the concert.
Mr Ampofo Ankrah, speaking on Asempa FM’s Ultimate Sports Show, stressed that Sarkodie has been prohibited from staging the concert on the pitch itself.
He further cautioned that sanctions would be applied if the arrangements were violated.
“Sarkodie is prohibited from using the pitch to host the Rapperholic event,” he said.
The Baba Yara Stadium is currently under renovation to meet Confederation of African Football (CAF) and FIFA standards, making preservation of the playing surface a top priority.
