You can’t use 8 months to solve galamsey – Sammy Gyamfi

Sammy Gyamfi, the CEO of GoldBod & National Communications Officer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has pushed back against expectations that the NDC government can eliminate galamsey or illegal small-scale mining—in just a short timeframe.

He argues that the problem has deep roots dating back many years, and no matter how intense enforcement becomes, eight (or nine) months is simply not enough to undo decades of damage.
