Abigail Elorm Mensah, CEO of MASLOC, has revealed that MASLOC, in collaboration with National Security agents, has retrieved three state vehicles from the residence of Bernard Antwi Boasiako, also known as Chairman Wontumi, who serves as Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

On Wednesday, September 10, 2025, the CEO, in an interview on Citi FM, explained that the action was part of a larger effort to recover government loans and vehicles from defaulters.

“I have accompanied National Security operatives to the residence of Chairman Wontumi, Chairman of the NPP in Ashanti Region, and retrieved three cars. Initially, there were five cars, but we have recovered three and are still pursuing him for the remaining two. He must settle the debt,” she noted.

The MASLOC CEO stated that, per the Center’s operational regulations, individuals who misuse government vehicles or fail to repay their loans must surrender the assets or pay their outstanding debts.

“Our procedure is to seize the cars, and our agreement with the debtor is to repay the accrued debt, after which we release the vehicles,” she explained.

Elorm Mensah stated that her outfit has reported several instances of asset misappropriation to the police, in an endeavor to safeguard public property.

“We’ve reported numerous issues to the police,” she confirmed.

Citing another example, Mensah recounted an incident involving a relative of the former Vice President who took a government vehicle—a Nissan Urvan—and was reluctant to return it.

“I have a situation where a brother of the former Vice President, Seidu Imoro, took a car and boldly told us that ‘well, he has used the car to work and has purchased his own, so if we want it, we could come for it.’ So, we’ve seized it,” she stated.
