Mpox: Ghana's total cases rise to 494 after 27 new infections

Ghana has recorded twenty-seven (27) new cases of Mpox, raising the country’s total infections to 494, according to the Ghana Health Service (GHS).

As of the update recorded on Monday, September 1, 2025, one patient is currently receiving treatment. The latest update shows an increase from August 28, when 21 new cases brought the total to 467.

On August 25, the Service reported 22 cases, which pushed the cumulative figure at the time to 446.

Health officials have explained that Mpox is mainly transmitted through close contact with an infected person.

Symptoms often include fever, headache, muscle pain, swollen lymph nodes, and skin rashes.

The GHS urged the public to remain alert, practise good hygiene, and seek immediate medical attention if they experience any of the symptoms.
