Police arrest 'Sir Obama Pokuase' as part of a crackdown on illegal arms.

The Ghana Police Service, in partnership with other security agencies, has apprehended Mr. Daniel Adomako, popularly known on social media as Sir Obama Pokuase.
The arrest, which took place on Wednesday, August 13, forms part of ongoing intelligence-led operations aimed at disrupting networks involved in the illicit possession and display of sophisticated firearms.
The Police have stated that Mr. Adomako is assisting with investigations into images and videos he allegedly circulated on social media, showing individuals openly brandishing illegally acquired, high-grade weapons.
These operations, which have been underway for several weeks, have so far led to the recovery of a substantial cache of illegal arms and ammunition.
In a related development, three other suspects — Prince Ofori, Yayra Abiwu, and Emmanuel Kwakye — are in Police custody over allegations of threat of death and publication of false news in connection with the recent helicopter crash.
The Ghana Police Service has reaffirmed its pledge to maintain public safety by eliminating criminal networks and preventing the proliferation of illicit arms.
“We encourage the public to continue providing trustworthy information to assist us in these critical operations,” the statement read, adding that additional updates will be provided as investigations progress, in line with established procedures.
The statement was signed by Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Grace Ansah-Akrofi, Director of Public Affairs.
