Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu, Sakparu stable after road accident

The Office of the Minister for Education has announced that Haruna Iddrisu and Deputy Minister for Communications and Digital Technology, Mohammed Adams Sukparu, are receiving medical attention and are in a stable condition following a road traffic accident on Thursday, February 12, 2026.

The incident occurred on the Bolgatanga–Tumu Road while the Ministers and their respective teams were en route to the Upper West Region to attend official events commemorating the 40th Anniversary celebrations of both the Tumu College of Education and Jahan College of Education.

A statement signed by Hashmin Mohammed, Press Secretary to the Minister for Education, confirmed that all members of the convoy survived the accident and are currently receiving medical attention.

Officials have reassured the public that everyone involved is in a stable condition.

The Office expressed deep appreciation to emergency responders, health professionals, and members of the public for their prompt assistance and concern immediately following the crash.
