Ghana has been officially designated as the host nation for the 2026 Africa Aquatics Swimming Championships.

The six-day continental competition is scheduled to take place from May 5-10, 2026, at the Borteyman Sports Complex in Accra.

This edition will introduce a revised format for the first time, featuring events for Seniors, Juniors, Masters, as well as Inter-Zonal Championships.

The Bureau of Africa Aquatics has expressed its gratitude to Ghana for its ongoing commitment and support towards the development of aquatic sports on the continent.

Ghana has consistently established itself as a hub for African swimming, having successfully hosted several major events in recent years, including the AA Junior & Senior Swimming and Open Water Championships in 2021, the Africa Aquatics Zone II Junior Championships in August 2023 and the Africa Aquatics Zone II Junior and Senior Championships in 2025.
