1 Dead, 37 Injured in Suhum Mankrong Accident
A fatal accident occurred on the Accra–Kumasi Highway at Mankrong, resulting in one fatality and numerous injuries.
On January 11, 2026, a collision took place between a 40-seater Zhong Tong bus bearing registration number AS 7022-21 and a Man Diesel truck with registration number GW 3969-U.
According to eyewitness accounts, the bus was traveling at a high speed when it collided with the truck.
While one person lost their life, 37 others, comprising 21 males and 17 females, sustained varying degrees of injury, whereas the occupants of the truck escaped unscathed.
Fire service personnel responded promptly to the scene to extricate the deceased, assist the injured, clear the area, restore traffic flow, and ensure the safety of road users.
