Vice President hosts Cape Coast Metropolitan Assembly, MPs on 8-year Development Plan

Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang revealed that she hosted a delegation from the Cape Coast Metropolitan Assembly, led by Metropolitan Chief Executive George Arthur, to discuss the development of the Cape Coast Metropolis.
In a post on her social media page, the Vice President noted that the delegation, which included Members of Parliament for Cape Coast North and Cape Coast South, paid a New Year courtesy call and extended their goodwill, expressing hope for strength and clarity as the government continues its efforts to reset the nation.

According to the Vice President, the delegation presented an eight-year development plan for the metropolis, which includes key components such as the refurbishment and operation of the late President Evans Atta Mills Library, as well as the rehabilitation of the Cape Coast Metropolitan Hospital.
The discussions focused on ways in which government support could enhance Cape Coast’s vibrancy and economic viability, alongside local fundraising initiatives aimed at supporting development efforts within the metropolis.

The Vice President encouraged the Assembly to involve residents of Cape Coast in decision-making processes to promote ownership of development initiatives and strengthen public commitment to change.
She also stressed the need for the Assembly to pursue metropolitan development in tandem with the broader national development agenda.
