Curfew hours reviewed for Nalerigu Township and environs

The Minister for the Interior has reviewed the curfew hours for Nalerigu Township and its environs in the North East Region, acting on the advice of the National Security Council and via Executive Instrument, with the revised directive taking effect on Monday, January 5, 2026.
The curfew will now run from 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
The Ministry has called on community leaders and residents to exercise restraint and adopt non-violent means to achieve lasting peace.
Additionally, the Ministry has maintained the total ban on carrying arms, ammunition, or offensive objects within the area, cautioning that offenders will face arrest and prosecution.
The directive was signed by the Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak (MP).

Authorities say the measures are aimed at maintaining law and order and restoring calm in the affected areas.
