The Manhyia Palace has released a formal disclaimer categorically denying any involvement in decisions or disputes surrounding the funeral arrangements of Ghanaian music legend Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba.

In a public notice issued on Wednesday, the Palace advised the general public to disregard any attempts to associate Manhyia with matters relating to the planning, preparation, or organization of the burial and funeral rites of the celebrated highlife icon.

According to the Palace, such claims are false, misleading, and should not be given any attention. The statement emphasized that Manhyia has no role—direct or indirect—in the ongoing discussions or arrangements reportedly taking place among family factions and industry stakeholders regarding Daddy Lumba’s funeral.

It further cautioned media outlets, bloggers, and social media commentators to exercise responsible reporting and avoid dragging the Palace into issues for which it has no involvement.

Daddy Lumba, one of Ghana’s most influential and decorated musicians, recently became the subject of widespread public conversation following conflicting reports about his funeral preparations. Some of these claims attempted to attribute certain decisions to the Manhyia Palace—an assertion the Palace now describes as completely unfounded.

Manhyia reiterated that Ghanaians should rely only on verified information from the appropriate family representatives and official communication channels regarding the musician’s funeral arrangements.

The Palace concluded by assuring the public of its continued commitment to maintaining the integrity of its name and called on all to help curb the spread of misinformation.
