Ablakwa: Delta Air Lines resumes direct Accra-Atlanta flights

Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Member of Parliament for North Tongu, has expressed his enthusiasm for Delta Air Lines’ resumption of non-stop flights from Accra to Atlanta, United States, which commenced on Monday, December 1, 2025.

In a Facebook post on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, the minister described the reinstatement of this route as a significant development for Ghana’s aviation sector and international relations. He emphasized that the direct flight will greatly facilitate travel for numerous Ghanaians, particularly frequent travelers to the United States.

Ablakwa also commended Air Transat, a Canadian airline, for its decision to launch a historic non-stop flight between Ghana and Canada on June 17, 2026. He noted that these aviation advancements demonstrate growing confidence in Ghana as a travel hub.

According to him, the new flight connections will significantly promote Ghana’s economic diplomacy, supporting trade, boosting tourism, and creating opportunities for business partnerships.

Ablakwa added that Ghana eagerly anticipates the benefits these developments will bring to both travelers and the country’s broader economic objectives.
