Efya questions youths’ motives in joining Ghana Armed Forces after El Wak tragedy

Singer Efya has reacted to the tragic El Wak stampede that claimed the lives of six young women during the Ghana Armed Forces recruitment exercise.

In a post shared on social media, Efya questioned the motivations behind the large turnout, asking whether the youth truly aspire to join the military or see it as a means to escape economic hardship.

“Do all these people really want to be in the military or it’s a way out? Do you get to travel or something?” she wrote, expressing both shock and concern over the tragedy that has sparked nationwide conversations about unemployment and recruitment conditions in Ghana.
