Two individuals have been remanded for two weeks for allegedly dumping waste illegally at Rawlings Park

Ibrahim Abdullah and Eric Opoku have been remanded in custody for two weeks after being caught dumping refuse at Rawlings Park in Accra’s Central Business District.

As they were unable to meet their bail conditions of GH₵2,000 each, they are scheduled to reappear in the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) Sanitation Court on November 5, 2025.

Prosecutor Nii Okine Aryee informed the court that the men were arrested by AMA Public Health Officers on October 12, 2025, at around 5:00 am for contravening the Assembly’s sanitation bye-laws by disposing of waste at an unauthorized location.
