Fire destroys Kantamanto Tazani Lane

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has successfully contained a major fire that broke out at Kantamanto Tazani Lane, near Ecobank in Accra, in the early hours of Tuesday, October 21, 2025.
Following a distress call received at 1:31 a.m., the GNFS promptly responded, with the first fire appliance arriving at the scene 11 minutes later, at 1:42 a.m.
A total of seven fire engines and a turntable ladder were deployed from various fire stations, including the Circle, Industrial Area, Accra Regional Headquarters, Madina, and Legon, with additional support provided by the National Headquarters.
After nearly three hours of intense firefighting, the fire, which gutted several commercial structures, was brought under control at 4:49 a.m.
Acting Chief Fire Officer Daniella Mawusi Ntow Sarpong, accompanied by the Director of Operations, the Greater Accra Regional Commander, and other senior personnel, conducted a site visit to evaluate the situation and provide operational assistance.
As of now, no injuries have been reported, and firefighting operations continue to ensure the blaze is completely extinguished.
Investigations are expected to determine the cause of the fire.
