The work Pres. Kufour and I did is enough to bring NPP back to power – Fmr. President Nana Akufo-Addo

Former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has expressed confidence that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will return to power in the 2028 general elections. He attributed his optimism to the party’s developmental track record under his administration and that of former President John Agyekum Kufuor.

Speaking at the commissioning of a new Bantama Constituency office on Friday, September 19, Akufo-Addo said the achievements of the NPP in government provide a strong foundation for a political comeback. “The work the NPP did during my time and during former President Kufuor’s time is enormous, and it is that legacy we will build on to win back power in 2028,” he said.

He further criticised the Mahama-led administration, arguing that current conditions show why Ghanaians will once again look to the NPP for leadership. “We have all seen what is happening — things are not going well. But when we unite and do things right, I know that, with God’s help, we will reclaim power in 2028,” Akufo-Addo added.

The event brought together party executives, grassroots supporters, and senior party figures, who praised the new office as a hub for revitalising NPP organisation ahead of the next election.
