Ghanaian songstress Sista Afia has revealed the heartbreaking reason behind her 8-year absence from committed relationships.
Speaking on The Delay Show, she disclosed that her heart has been tied to one man who has never truly loved her back. Despite pouring her time, devotion, and affection into him, the singer admitted he has never matched her efforts.
“Maybe it’s because the person I love doesn’t feel the same way about me. There’s someone I love so much, but he does not love me back. Others would give anything to be with me, yet I can’t move on,” she confessed.
According to her, even though many men have shown interest, her emotional attachment to this one man has made it impossible to start anew.
“We’ve been together for a long time, and I’ve shown him my love through actions. I always make time for him, but he doesn’t reciprocate. That’s why I feel I love him more than he loves me—he knows it too,” she added.
The singer concluded by saying this one-sided love is the reason she has been without a relationship for nearly a decade.
