GWR wishes Hilda Baci the best of luck as she prepares to kick off her attempt at the largest pot of jollof rice

Hilda Baci, a renowned celebrity chef, is set to embark on her official attempt to set a new Guinness World Record for the largest pot of jollof rice, with the backing of Guinness World Records.

The global record body has acknowledged the attempt and offered words of encouragement, commenting on Hilda’s post: “Best of luck Hilda and team!” In 2023, Hilda Baci rose to international prominence after breaking the record for the longest cooking marathon and will now attempt to cook 250 bags of rice in a single giant pot.

The event, slated to take place at Eko Hotels, Lagos, is highly anticipated, with thousands of fans and supporters expected to be in attendance.

Ahead of the attempt, Hilda and her mother were seen praying together, asking for strength, protection, and endurance.

The touching moment had a profound effect on spectators, many of whom acknowledge her mother’s crucial role in her remarkable accomplishments.

Hilda Baci also shared a humorous post on social media, writing, “I am delighted to confirm that this pot is spotless! I personally washed it. In just a few hours, this same pot will be used to serve thousands of portions of Nigerian Jollof, a moment that will make history.”

The event, originally planned to take place at Muri Okunola Park, was relocated to Eko Hotels in Lagos to cater to the overwhelming interest, with more than 20,000 people registered to attend.
