Julius Debrah Mobilizes Akwatia Support for NDC Candidate Bernard Bediako Baidoo

Chief of Staff Julius Debrah spearheaded the National Democratic Congress’s final rally in Akwatia on Sunday, August 31, 2025, presenting President John Dramani Mahama’s greetings and underscoring his dedication to creating jobs, promoting digitalised farming, and fostering better livelihoods.
He encouraged the electorate to vote in large numbers for the party’s candidate, 40-year-old lawyer Bernard Bediako Baidoo, in Tuesday’s (September 2) by-election.
He described Baidoo, a 40-year-old lawyer, as the perfect candidate to implement the government’s policies into tangible development for the people of Akwatia.
“The President’s message is clear: Vote for Bernard Baidoo, and collectively we shall build a future of employment, dignity, and development for Akwatia,” Julius Debrah declared.
When he sought the crowd’s opinion on supporting the NDC candidate, the teeming supporters replied with a resounding “YES!” — indicating Akwatia’s willingness to support the NDC.
Meanwhile, the National Peace Council (NPC) has requested an urgent meeting with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) leadership to engage in dialogue before the upcoming Akwatia by-election.
The National Peace Council, through its Executive Secretary Dr. George Amoh, has formally requested a joint meeting with both parties in Akwatia on Monday, September 1, 2025, at 2 PM, as outlined in a letter dated August 30, 2025.
This meeting is integral to the Council’s ongoing initiatives aimed at promoting political tolerance and peace, particularly in the context of the Akwatia by-election.
The meeting is a follow-up to the Council’s previous engagements with the NPP on July 30 and the NDC on July 29.
As stated in the letter, the meeting aims to “fulfil our pledge to engage you ahead of the Akwatia by-elections” and to “respectfully request a short meeting with the leadership of both the NDC and NPP”.
