Young activist treks from Bolgatanga to Accra in 27 days.

Dennis Apusika, a youth activist from the Upper East Region, has undertaken a 27-day, 785-kilometre trek from Bolgatanga to Accra to campaign for the construction of a modern sports stadium in his region.

He arrived at the Black Star Square in Accra on Sunday, August 17, 2025, after embarking on the endurance walk on July 22.

Mr. Apusika’s journey was a testament to his determination and a direct appeal to government and stakeholders to address the region’s long-standing need for a standard sporting facility.

Mr. Apusika noted that a stadium in the Upper East would have a multifaceted impact, including the development of young athletes, promotion of tourism, and stimulation of local economic growth.
