Shatta Wale begged EOCO not to publish the seizure of his 'stolen' Lamborghini as it is part of his brand - EOCO

Ghanaian dancehall artist Shatta Wale, born Charles Nii Armah, reportedly pleaded with officers from the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) not to publicize the seizure of his 2019 Lamborghini Urus, which has been linked to proceeds from a U.S.-based criminal enterprise.
According to a press release dated August 5, 2025, the luxury vehicle was confiscated following a lawful search of Shatta Wale’s residence at Trassaco Valley, Accra. The operation was conducted by EOCO’s Surveillance And Asset Recovery Unit (SARU) in collaboration with the FBI and the U.S. Justice Department.
Shatta Wale allegedly begged officers to keep the seizure discreet, expressing concerns that the vehicle was a significant part of his brand image and that public awareness of its confiscation could damage his reputation. He was, however, allowed to surrender the car himself, which is now in EOCO’s custody.
The vehicle is expected to be returned to the United States as part of a $4.7 million restitution tied to convicted U.S. fraudster Nana Kwabena Amuah. EOCO has confirmed that Shatta Wale remains a person of interest in the ongoing investigations.
