Police have rearrested a 29-year-old woman after her lover died from injuries sustained in an acid attack.

Koforidua police have re-arrested 29-year-old Vera Akosua Asare following the death of her boyfriend, Daniel Omane, who sustained severe injuries in an acid attack earlier this year.
The incident occurred in March 2025 when Vera allegedly poured acid on Omane while he was asleep in his room.
Reports emerging from the incident suggest that the two had a child in common. Vera is suspected of having committed the attack due to allegations of infidelity. The screams of Omane alerted neighbors, who promptly came to his rescue.
Vera was promptly apprehended by co-tenants and turned over to the authorities, while Omane was rushed to the Eastern Regional Hospital in critical condition.
Following her initial arrest, Vera was remanded but later granted bail by the court to enable her to care for their child, as Omane continued to receive treatment for life-threatening injuries.
Daniel Omane has reportedly passed away after months of battling acid burn complications, leading to Vera’s re-arrest by the police.
