Kennedy Agyapong announces intention to run in NPP 2028 presidential primaries

Former Member of Parliament for Assin Central in the Central Region, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, has officially declared his intention to run in the New Patriotic Party’s presidential primaries ahead of the 2028 general election.

In a press statement issued on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, Mr. Agyapong declared: “Now that nominations have been opened, I will be contesting for the New Patriotic Party’s 2028 Presidential Primaries.”

He expressed his profound gratitude for the broad-based support he has obtained from across the nation, including party stalwarts, professionals, young individuals, and even Members of Parliament, some of whom have offered to personally fund his nomination form.

Mr. Agyapong expressed his ambition not as a solo endeavor but as a shared mission, promising to surmount partisan obstacles and unify the nation.

“Together, we will… build a Ghana where every citizen… has a fair shot at success. I am ready to listen to you and to lead with integrity and purpose,” the statement read.
