Why not Bullgod instead of Daddy Lumba – Prophet Kumchacha asks

The July 26, 2025 episode of United Showbiz on UTV took a fiery turn when Prophet Nicholas Osei, widely known as Kumchacha, made a controversial remark about the recent death of Highlife legend Daddy Lumba.

While discussing the musician’s passing, Kumchacha criticised what he termed the “poor selection” by death, asking provocatively why someone like Bullgod, an artiste manager, was still alive while Daddy Lumba had passed.

“Death doesn’t know selection at all. If death were a coach, it would be a bad coach like former Black Stars coach Milovan Rajevac. Why would Bullgod still be alive while Daddy Lumba has died?” he questioned.

The statement immediately drew the ire of host Empress Gifty, who demanded that Kumchacha retract his words. Kumchacha, however, refused and stood his ground, challenging her reaction and escalating the on-air tension.

In response, Empress Gifty fired back:

“If you want to talk about death like this, start with yourself. Don’t involve others.”

The heated exchange was briefly cooled down by comedian Clemento Suarez, who jokingly added:

“Next time, death should rather go after certain pastors.”
His remark sparked laughter from the panel and audience, diffusing the tension and shifting the mood back to entertainment.

The moment has since gone viral, with many viewers debating whether Kumchacha crossed a line or simply made an edgy observation in line with his usual outspoken style.
