Actress and socialite Rosemond Brown, popularly known as Akuapem Poloo, has made a shocking revelation about her early days in the entertainment industry.

In an interview on Joy Prime TV on July 23, 2025, Poloo confessed that she paid people to insult her on social media just to generate attention when she was struggling to break into the spotlight.

“At first when I started, I was paying for people to insult me for about a year. I had been in the game and no one was calling me or paying attention,” she admitted.

Poloo explained that this strategy eventually worked, attracting the media’s attention and leading to brand deals and features in music promotions.

One standout moment she mentioned was being paid by Ghanaian artiste Fameye, who gave her GH¢5,000 to twerk to his song on social media.

“Even Fameye was giving me GH¢5,000 to twerk on his song,” she disclosed.

She also opened up about the struggles of her early acting career, revealing she was once paid as little as GH¢20 per role, except for her time with GBC’s ‘Obra’ series, where veteran actress Maame Dokono ensured fairer treatment.

“With the others it was GH¢20, but GBC was better thanks to Maame Dokono,” she said.
