I may relocate my office to Tema Port due to massive revenue leakages – Ato Forson

Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson says he may relocate his office to the Tema Port to personally oversee reforms aimed at curbing massive revenue leakages.

Speaking during the 2025 Mid-Year Budget Review, he revealed that customs revenue fell short by GH¢1.6 billion in the first half of the year—largely due to under-declaration, misclassification, and smuggling.

he added that, To address the crisis, the government is deploying Artificial Intelligence (AI) and an Advanced Cargo Information system to reduce human interference and improve accuracy in customs operations.
